Hotel Rwanda

According to the sources and movie the Europeans failed the Rwandans by letting them die by machetes, and guns by the Rwandan army. The Europeans promised to bring troops but the troops were just there to take the whites away and let the rest suffer. The UN tried to help but they only had 300 peacekeeping troops that were not even allowed to shoot for the entire country. Also the UN went in to the maelstrom without a plan. Another example is the Belgium soldiers left the Tutsi refugees in the UN compound that was guarded by Belgium soldiers who abandoned them while they escaped to the airport. The European troops besides the UN thought that Africans were dirt and they didn't care but the UN did care so that proves not all people are good. Also, like in India the low caste people were not treated well. Then there were armed shipments from the French caused most of the massacre because it was in the center of the city at an affordable price.

Who Won and Who lost

Germany(Vishal and Chris) won in my opinion because they may not have had the most land but the amount of land itself doesn't matter what matters is the type of land. Germany had the richest agricultural land and the land with the most diamond mines and population. By gaining this Germany had land by the amount of land they had which got them in 2nd place for amount of land labor by taking over the most populated parts of Africa and capital by the diamond mines they had. But the Netherlands(Me) lost for sure because they had the least amount of land and and the little land they had had no resources, agriculture, and population therefore the Netherlands lost. Some people may say that Great Britain may have won because they had the most populaces areas and they had a lot of resources and money but if you think about their rivalries it was basically everybody. The Netherlands attempted to take over the areas of GB close but failed. Then France(Phil and KY) tried to take over the areas near them but since there were none they attacked Belgium (Cerys and KJ) so they could have better land. Portugal had no land near GB so they attacked no one. Spain was a country that attacked a great deal but they made no deals with many countries. One reason GB became so unpopular was because other countries were willing to give twice the amount of land for a little bit of theirs so everyone had conspiracies against them. Everyone thought that since the y had the Suez canal and tourism that they would negotiate the part that is now Libya. I was going for that part due to the oil in that part and i was willing to give thrice the amount of squares for that part.

Imperialism and England

This cartoon means that England took over the countries that the hands are on. Some of the main visual elements are the head with England written under it ans the arms and hands falling and grasping the countries. The main issue is how England was taking over all the countries
and becoming to powerful in Imperialism. Probably the author feels that England was to powerful and was taking over the countries for power. The author could have made the head more fierce looking and a whole monstrous body so it shows more of the wars and the cold hatred in England when they took over these countries. This cartoon has good contrast, repetition of the arms and countries, alignment, and proximity because every thing is grouped around England.

What are the qualities of a good leader?

I think the good qualities in a leader are friendship, and respect for others and their ideas. Some leaders are Phillipe, and Avi. In organizing the football games and spider web and toxic waste. they are friendly and respectful.

I am proud of my IR interview because I worked really hard on it and it was a good piece. This was my best piece because I don't like writing much. This piece was a piece that i worked exceptionally hard on because it was the first writing assignment and i wanted to start with a good grade.

Something that was challenging was all the writing pieces. As I mentioned I dont like writing so this is why i chose this as challenging.

Feedback

WOW should definetly be kept because it teaches the kids religion in the cities they visit, the importance of listening to instructions and it shows teachers how their students are not just inside a classroom but hiking and doing other outdoor activities. In Rishikesh we learned the culture and the ways people made money by making handy crafts. Like I bought a cloth painting and they started the price high but i brought the price down so it shows that people are eager to sell their items before others so they can earn a living. By rafting it taught us how important it is to listento directions. On Golf Course our bout went vertical and i didn't fall out because i had listen to directions and held on to the rope tightly. Also it is important for teachers to know their strengths not only in a classroom but outside. this is important because it shows how the teachers should grade the students not only on WOW but also in PE.

News Arcticle

It is a horrible day today on April 13 1919. Over 1000 men, women, and children killed and more than 2000 injured. The British police shot over 2000 rounds in Amritsar today. We know call it the Amritsar Massacre because of the Rowlett act. The Rowlett Act was to root out conspiracy in the Indians after world war one. Due to that, violence spread rapidly. Several banks and other government buildings were put on fire including the town hall and railway station. Resulting more military action was taken and several more times rounds where shot and 8 to 20 people were dead. During a social gathering more rounds were fired and more than 120 people jumped in a well to escape the bullets but, drowned and their bodies were recovered. It was counted that 379 people died (337 men, 41 boys and a six week old baby) are the estimates.

Feedback Stock Market Game

I think that it was really hard to judge the rise and fall of the stocks back then because they were not many high tech tools to calculate and many people knew nothing about what was going to happen. This teaches us that we should be happy we did not have to earn money with such a risk of going broke and dying or the second option was to work hard in a factory with the chance of dying as well so it was a risky life back then.

Dear Gandhi,

I have studied your philosophy like if someone hits you on one arm then you should turn around and tell them to hit you on your other arm. Also the caste system like you say that there should be no difference in the upper caste and the lower caste. You believe in non-violence but I think the British have different thoughts. The treat us all badly and make us their slaves. We both want to solve this in a non-violent way. I was Impressed in what you did in South Africa with the non-touchable. But I think the salt march was a great idea because instead of going broke I think that it was a great idea because why pay so much tax when you can make it your self from the sea. What are your future plans for India’s freedom?

Sincerely,

Nehru

interview on Jawharnal Nehru

Jawaharlal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889, in Allahabad. His family descended from Kashmiri heritage. He was learning Hindi and Sanskrit while being taught in English.

What are some of the changes you made to India?

Well, to start things of I increased businesses and income taxes. I also helped with the farming bit because I made plans to build irrigation canals and better fertilizer. But most importantly I extended the electricity, water, health care and the roads across India. Educationally, I have started a 5 year project that every child in India should get a primary education. While I’m on the topic of village children I will have the provisions of free milk and meals everyday to avoid malnutrition. For the education of the adults I am going to make adult education centers, vocational and technological schools were also organized for adults, especially in the rural areas.

What do you think were the most significant changes you made?

Well personally, I think that the changes in the expansion of roads and teaching people about cleanliness and hygiene were the most significant. I know most of you will argue against me because you think that the most important thing was the education change. But the truth is we can survive without education in the 40’s and 50’s but without the better transport many more people would die of thirst or bleeding to death from lack of health care, and people are more educated about diseases, illnesses, etc…

Did it matter to you when you got jailed an unbelievable seven times?

I know it may sound like a lot to get jailed 7 times but when you are doing it for your country, it doesn’t matter to you. You just feel like giving up everything for your country. I knew that if I was jailed it might help India get its freedom from the British. For some of you I may have been a great hero for bringing India its independence but really, I can’t take all the credit. Gandhi also helped. He did more for this country’s freedom than I ever dreamed anyone would do. He refused to go safely to jail when they threatened to beat him with sticks and rods. Even after the beating he refused to go to jail but instead continued to pick up the farmers rightful salary out of the trash can. He was jailed and beaten for leading people to the beach to gather salt instead of buying salt and paying the high tax. When I met Gandhi he said that he knew nobody was brave enough to go against the British and if no one did they would never be free again. I did only a quarter of the work. It was Gandhi that did most of it.

What do you think about India today? Is it what you wanted it to be?

I think that India has gone under some changes that I did not expect. First, I didn’t expect that there would be so many beggars. I knew that it would be hard for India to pull out of poverty, but I didn’t expect it to grow so much. Second, thing that surprised me was that the food shortages have decreased significantly. That so many people in India just cared for themselves and not the environment. For example they don’t want to take the time to put new oil in their car so instead of spitting out horrible fumes it could be marked as a non-polluting vehicle. Also when I was in Delhi in 1941 there was not that much trash on the streets. I think that nowadays people are self-centered. They are just worried about getting somewhere and they will break the law if they have to.

Do you think your improvements when you where Prime Minister that your changes made a difference to India today?

I think that some of the improvements I made were good and some were not so good. For example, I think that when the roads were made that it is a half and half. The more roads equals more pollution but more roads equals faster commute so with that you could go either way in a long discussion. But one that made a major improvement was the better irrigation and fertilizer. You see when we had that in the early ages of India then we are developing better and better ways to make a larger quantity faster. One thing that didn’t help that much was I basically didn’t do much about the poverty solution and now that I see what is happening I regret that I didn’t do any thing about it.

Well folks that’s all we have for you today so I hope you learned something and I would like to thank Mr. Nehru for his time here.

Thank you for having me in this article.

What was different about today?

At the end of class I was so much more tired and stressed then yesterday. I think that in factories the work has to be done twice as hard that when it was just cottage industries. Also for mass production the "gangsta" bear was very hard to mass produce. Also yesterday we had more time to make one then we had time to make alot more. I calculated the number of bears per minute and it was 1.5384615384615384615384615384615. And the bears per person were 3.9. that was surprising because it took 40 minutes to make 1 last time.

Factory game day 1

During the factory game I saw that not everyone back then had the utensils that we had today and that it was hard to make an acctractive product with those materials. Also if it is hard for us nowdays then it must have been extremely difficult back then.

Roller Coaster Paragraph

If you have never been on a roller coaster before then you dont know the great feeling its like you are flying through the air. You hear the air whizzing past your ear like whispering a secret message while blowing by your ear. But another sound is the screams and yells of enjoyment its like in sypmphony. The yells are together like in a band. Its like the high yells together then the low screams together. Also the grinding wheels against the rail tracks and screaching to a halt at the end. Amazingly going at that speed I still managed to smell all the wonders down below. I could smell the intense smell of hotdogs frying and burgers sizzeling when they are turned over on the grill. But the strongest smell of all is the smell of popcorn popping and people eating it on the ground. While on the roller coaster you should not smell the tempting smells of the food on the ground. Ill tell you That was the best ever smells of food combined in one. And ill tell you why not to smell the food because the first thing I did on the ground was run to the nearest snack bar. The best scenary was while I was going down. You could just make out the Snack bars and forest surrounding it. It was like a sea of hands while going down the slope infront of me it was like waves breaking and forming in front of me. I also tasted the popcorn and hotdog oil in the air. The metal safety bar infront of me was a cold steel smooth touch. it was nothing like the bumpy hard plastic seat. And the air was cool on my face and then after the roller coaster I felt refreshed.

Quick write fruit roll up

The luscious fruit roll up was amazing. The flavor was a mix of blue berry and and a bunch of other things. You will never believe how awesome the flavor mix was. It was like a pow of blue berry then a string of some awesome taste. You should try it sometime. You have to know the sound. Before unwrapping it the wrapper is all crinkly, While unwrapping it it sounds like rubber stuck to plastic unwrapping ever so slowly. The sight was better than pizza. It was like this blue blob with a luscious smell arising around it. It looked so tempting I could barely wait to gobble it all down nut i had to describe it more. After I ate it the luscious taste was still in my mouth. I knew there was some on the wrapper so I went ahead and started eating the scraps of the wrapper like a starved man that just got a double quarter pounder with extra cheese. I just went ahead and started liking the wrapper not caring what anybody thought of me it was that good.

I think that necessity is the mother of invention means that in need people can make things when they need it like a mother giving birth to children.
