Power is the thing that makes someone in charge. power is being better than everyone else. Power is doing what you think is right for everyone. But when a person in power gets greedy it is something else. What do you think happened in Animal farm when the pigs started the rebellion and made everyone else think they were the best. the pigs started to get greedy and ended up changing the original rules. everyone thought that pigs were always right so they went with it. People may not think that the person in power is correct but they do not have the power to speak up alone so then they watch the pain and suffering but still keep quiet until they find someone else who is also unhappy about this.another example is when the Hutus were killing the Tutsis in Hotel Rwanda.

Feedback of May 5th

The three most valuable things that i learned from the Population Project are:

1. that if you leave everything to the end then that builds up stress. in my UBD i left the website to the end and the quality of it goes down. I know i should have started my website earlier so there would be less stress on it. also this goes to show that if there is an earlier time to do it do it so you aren't stressed out about it.
   
2. then there is also the fact of copying down your sources while you work so you dont forget and dont plagiarize. this is important in a big project because if you dont cite your sources you can fail and it is hard to find the sources after.
   
3. also the last thing is that more work is involved so you need more orginization. this makes more people alert and if noone has orginazation then you will not find anything and make your work useless.
   

Giver Blog Post

1. The age for an adult in the giver is 12. I know this because of the ceremony that is help each year and when the twelve’s get their jobs.
2. In the giver the responsibilities are greater. Also when they become an adult they have jobs that serve the community.
3. The age people are no longer useful is the age where they turn fragile. Also when their life is no longer of any use they are released because it was a long life and it is a happy celebration.

Holy war is an oxymoron because most religions say don't kill another human but the term 'holy war' defies that because when they say holy war they mean fighting for religious rights but while fighting for religious rights they are going against their own religion so in this way it is and oxymoron.

Cold war simulation

The simulation of the cold war was nothing like the actual cold war. One example is that the USA nuked the USSR when in real life they were afraid of M.A.D.. the USA also got to attack first every time so we wasted all our space race tickets in defending that we never got a chance ot attack.in the end the USA won but in real life it was a StaleMate.

Animal Farm: Book VS. Movie

The book was much better because the way you could picture it in the book was completely different than int he movie. For instance in the book Farmer Jones was at home and not of at the bar. and in the book Mrs. Jones didn't have much importance but in the movie she was an important character. Another disappointment i had was that the pigs looked fake like made out of plastic.

VC Project

Three tips while designing a VC project are:
1. keep it simple
2. Dont spend time touching up a project while the pro's dont get it right all the time
3. Dont worry about how you look

In the process of using VC the major helplines are DON'T memorized your skit because there is a place to paste your script on VC. Then the next step is that to get the V-Screen or AKA the background. The two best parts are its the simplest movie making program you'll ever use! and if you mess up you can overwrite it really easily. the worst parts are that it hard to judge the speed your reading and the time the other events such as the sounds and pics.

In the book by personality i am most like the cat because I'm really lazy and just want to sleep all day (Orwell 3). Also later in the the book the cat is mentioned to come back after all the work is done because he is to lazy to do anything(Orwell 19) just like me she would just reappear at meal times or when all the work was done.

The 43rd war is placed in El Salvador because the Santa marina volcano is in El Salvador. also they are only speaking Spanish. Also El Salvador in the book says has a volcano called Santa Ana. Also every meal the have they get coffee (Moeri, 83) so that means it is a major crop in the book so that proves that in El Salvador coffee is a major crop. also El Salvador has had revolutions from 1992 and that proves that it deos not have a stable government like in this book.

We the congress declare independent states for this country. they must say why they want to. we are all equal and have certian rights and among them are liberty and the search for happiness. we do not agree with the power for one person. we want more freedom. he has made us into his slaves, we don't have enough money to feed our selves as well as pay your outrage high taxes. he has taxed us highly and we warned him not do do what he did by extending his rule to us and taking over our lifestyles. he has taken ove r our house es . we are treated like cut-rate dogs that have no rights. we are treated like inanimate objects its like we are dumb idiots. the stamp act the quartering act and the army of men that took our food and did nothing, he passed the law that no governers not pass laws and the judges went with him and cut of trade. we are not going to take this. we appeal to the king and we will get our rights the United States of America will be free.

We can trust the book “To Be a Slave” by Julius Lester because he has actual quotations from the slaves on what happened to them. Also he has in text citations on where he got the information from for that specific paragraph. Also he must have endured some of them because he looks in his sixties. On the negative side it could be one sided and exaggerated. "A quote from the book will show that not all men were cruel to slaves. Gabe didn't like that whipping business, but couldn't help himself. When Massa was there he would lay it on, When massa wasn't there he would tie up a slave to one post and lash another. Of course the slave would scream and yell to satisfy massa." (Lester 35)

Great Powers Game Debrief

1. I was Japan and since i had to start out with 1 industry and colony in the beginning then i had to catch up to the others and that was hard cause I didn't have spare profit for the army and that was my mistake. I think USA had the advantage having 4 in every thing and i was dead last for sure.

2. It was more important to buy colonies and armies because there was a limited suipply of them and armies to protect them.

3. I apperantly have done nothing well and i would have hide my industry and bought some armies.

4. In the beginning the USA was my enemy but we made and alliance and i understood why he did it and it was for the good of the alliance.

5. The things i learned about conflict are that alliances cant be trusted like the french broke up with the US and GB and the ottoman empire tried to kill me e]when we had an alliance. Then that industry is important and etc.

Quarter 3 Goals

In quarter 3 I would like to go more in depth into my homework. Also I will also try to pay more attention in class and not try to be a clown. To achieve my goal to be a better reader i will get better books and read at least 20 pages at night.
